Sleep Apnea And Snoring

Sleep Apnea & Snoring Devices:
Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) is a serious and lifelong medical condition that affects 750,000 Australians. It has been linked to hypertension, diabetes, heart disease, work and driving related accidents and stroke.
If you or a loved one have OSA or display symptoms such as snoring, excessive daytime sleepiness, pauses in breathing or teeth grinding while sleeping, treatment is essential. If you have any of these symptoms, after the assessment of your dentition, and filling a questionnaire, we’ll refer you to your GP with a letter , explaining the problem and the need to be assessed by a sleep physician.
Sleep physician will diagnose you with OSA and determine the most effective treatment option for you. If sleep physician prescribes COAT ( Continuous Open Airway Therapy)/ MAS (Mandibular Advancement Splint), we will take dental impressions and a bite registration to fabricate the SomnoDent. These items are then sent to SomnoMed where the device is made. Once customized for you, we’ll fit the device and show how to insert and remove it by yourself, including how to clean and care for it.
